James Keenley Bio

See the demo reel here

James Keenley graduated from ASU and has over ten years of study in the areas of psychology, counseling, recovery and life coaching.  He was also an advance man for a US senator for two campaigns, a motivational speaker and owned a very successful marketing company for 17 years in Phoenix, Arizona.

"Funny how life sometimes puts you on a path  that you aren't even aware of.   Like the first time I ever thought of becoming an actor, I was sitting at a posh wedding in Phoenix, Arizona.  I was enjoying the reception, when a man walked into the room, heads turned and the women at our table started chattering excitedly, “You know who that is? That’s the actor from the soap opera ‘One Life to Live’.” They all seemed so smitten. And I remember thinking, 'It would be great to be an actor.'   And I'm sure I was secretly hoping everyone might then be impressed when I walked in the room too.”  The seed had been planted.

That incident taught Keenley two very important lessons that would become the catalyst for his commitment to help people change and grow.

1) Every thought counts - you create what you think about.

 2) Self-worth and self-esteem are inside jobs. No amount of money, property or prestige can give it to you.  You must transform the inside first.

Two years later, he began to study acting, sold his business, moved to LA and landed a role on “The Bold and the Beautiful” that lasted almost two years.  He also did numerous other TV shows, movies, soaps and occasionally performed stand-up comedy at "The Comedy Store" and "The Improv".

Shortly thereafter, James decided to move from in front of the camera to behind it, as he became an on-set producer for two successful TV shows.  "I was having a lot of fun as an actor but not very fulfilled.  I also realized I was a lot more bold than beautiful and acting on soaps was not going to be my future.  Producing TV show and managing over 70 cast and crew members taught me some very important lessons about humility, teamwork and motivation. The best leaders see the good and want the best for all those they lead.  Great leaders are willing to be of service."

No one is born with feelings of unworthiness, insecurity, arrogance or anything else like that.  All of that stuff is learned along the way and just our story. A nice little drama we've created and hold on to.  If we want to change our world, we have to change the way we're being and take full responsibility for our lives.  There are no victims, only volunteers.

And that's the basis of "The James Keenley Show".  A show completely dedicated to helping others live a life they love and realize their true potential.   "I believe in the principles of integrity, love, attitude, faith, persistence and taking FULL responsibility for your life.  But if you want to make a difference and inspire others, you better be honest, authentic, have character and not afraid to talk about anything."  And being really funny can help.  "That’s my job to teach and inspire with humor."

"It's amazing how in looking back, each and every life experience has better prepared me for this moment.  I believe there is a plan for my life and I've been shown the TRUE nature of every human being – inherently powerful, extraordinary, loving and capable of touching lives and changing the world in their own special way!

It’s a privilege to share the radio show and website with you.  I hope you find it helpful, entertaining and a source of inspiration, motivation and fun as you create a life you love and live it powerfully.  And remember, "Nobody gets to play small on our watch!"
